Chootad Beach, with its casuarina trees giving shade and its beach facing Ezhimala, is a hidden gem on Kerala's tourist map. On one side, it is bordered by a river, and on the other, it is bordered by the sea - a remarkable sight indeed. The beach is located 13 kms away from Payyannur and 15 km from Skanda Residency. Ezhimala, at 286 meters above sea level, provides a stunning view from the beach.
The District Tourism Promotion Council maintains a park next to the beach. There are facilities for pedal boats and speed boats in the river near the beach.
